About Running City

Running City is a city-wide quest — sort of like a scavenger hunt — that takes participants to interesting locations across Seattle.
  • Goal:
Participants will follow designated routes to interesting locations all across the city. At each point along the route, there are fun tasks that test your attention to detail. There are prizes for the fastest teams in timed categories!

  • Teams:
Each team can have up to four members. Participants under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Register your team in advance below.

  • Routes:
Each team can choose its preferred route and competition level: walking (with riddles), walking with small children (kids can be in strollers) or running. Each route is timed (4-8 hours) and varies with each category.
  • Starting Time:
All teams start at different times. Each team will be designated its starting time after registration is completed. Starting intervals will be allocated between 9 AM and 11 AM. Register early to get an earlier start!

  • Registration Fee:
The registration fee is $45 per team, and covers all printed materials for the team, souvenirs for each team member, and prizes for the winning teams in running and cycling categories.

DROWA
DROWA

Nielsen's Pastries
Nielsen's Pastries was established by John Nielsen in 1965. If you are wondering if it's the same shop that used to be in downtown Seattle on 3rd Ave, you're right! When development on Benaroya Hall began, the bakery moved to its current location in Queen Anne in 1996.

Chris and Holly Prairie are now the owners and operators of the shop. Holly started working at Nielsen's in 2009 while attending Seattle Pacific University and after working one other job after graduation, she decided that there was no job that could be as fulfilling. It was her deep desire to make the world a better place through pastries that inspired the two of them to purchase the bakery in the summer of 2017. They have a passion for bringing people together through delicious food and that is what they strive to do everyday. In their spare time, they enjoy slow cooked meals by candlelight, riding their bicycles all around town, and playing music in a band called The Hoot Hoots (Chris on drums, Holly on keys/vocals/dance moves).
